Feb 26 Michael Douglas was videotaped defending his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones from an aggressive Paparazzo. Zeta-Jones had been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire earlier in the day. During her and Michael Douglas’s return to their hotel they were srounded by paparazzi. While they were walking into the lobby of their hotel; a paparazzo apparently punched Zeta-Jones in the arm.
She can be heard say in a video shown on Entertainment Tonight, “How dare you punch me! I want a police officer right now. He punched me”! Michael Douglas then went into action and shoved the paparazzi calling him an “asshole”.
Michael Douglas had just finished a successful treatment for throat cancer and was spending time with his wife in the United Kingdom. The day had gone well up to this point. The same day of the incident Zeta-Jones was quoted as saying, “It was worth it to have Michael in good health to be able to enjoy it with me.” The alleged paparazzo was a London photographer.
